Ready to leave

Today is the day, we're leaving for Trøndelag and Battle Griffin. The beltwagons are allready on their way by boat, I'm traveling by plane in just a few hours.
I hope to meet soldiers from other NATO-countries during the exercise. Anyway I'm going to take some pictures with my camera and upload them when I get home for the eastern-leave.

Picture from www.battlegriffin.no
Btw, 14 000 soldiers from 15 different countries(!) attend to Battle Griffin.

Last minute shopping

Got back from the exercise last thursday (feb 10.). It was ok.
Our beltwagons are now loaded up with equipment and we're shipping them to mid-norway (Trøndelag) tomorrow.
My last preparations for Battle Griffin was to buy some crackers, soda and candy -and they had two new sorts of Fanta at Rema 1000. Great!

Plaincrash in Afghanistan

An airplain carrying both civillians and military personell crashed in the mountains over Kabul Airport last thursday.
Apparently the resqueteams are having a hard time reaching the wreck and there's no hope of finding any survivors.
The reason for the crash was probably the weatherconditions. The pilots of the plain had to fly through a blizzard but lost control of the aircraft and crashed in the mountains.

The last preparations

Next week we are going to have a smaller exercise, kind of a last preparation for Battle Griffin.

It will be the last chance to test our equipment before we are going to offer the com.systems to international forces during the grand-exercise in Trøndelag, mid-Norway.

Finnaly got internet (wan) in our rooms now, so I don't have to go to the internetcafé in camp to surf and write in my blog, great!
